In 1972, the United Nations General Assembly established the World Environment Day on the first day of the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment (5th of June). This day is celebrated to encourage awareness and environmental protection.
The 2022 World Environment Day campaign #OnlyOneEarth calls for collective, transformative action on a global scale to celebrate, protect and restore our planet.
