The Croatian Society for Geotechnical Engineering (CSGE) invites students in 1st to 3rd grade of elementary school, and their parents, to apply for the first cycle of the Small STEM School Environmental Care: Soil.
The Small School lasts 4 days, and participants will spend 2 hours each day dealing with a new topic:
- Soil – an organism that lives its own life
- Soil and water in a harmonious relationship
- Soil stained with pollution
- Soil – analyse me to see what I am like
Small STEM School will be held from December 8 to 11, 2025, at the “Gustav Krklec” Elementary School in Maruševec, Čalinec 78, from 5 to 7 p.m. every day. All necessary equipment, materials and other costs of the Small School are financed from project funds, and participation for students is completely free.
All students from 1st to 3rd grade from any elementary school in Varaždin and Varaždin County can apply for the workshops without any discrimination and regardless of the location.

The number of places in the Small School is limited, and places are filled in the order of applications received. The maximum number of Small School participants in one term is 12. Those who have registered will be contacted directly to confirm their application. If the number of applications received exceeds 12, a reserve list will be created, from which any subsequently vacant places will be filled, due to withdrawal or for some other reason. Those who are oversubscribed will also be offered to participate in another Small School cycle of their choice.
Enrolment in the Small School requires written parental consent for participation, photography and filming during project activities, and confirmation of the student’s status from the e-Class Register, which parents will be informed about in more detail via email after completing the online application.
