On Friday, September 26, 2025, the 5th STEM Skills Fest was held in the Atrium of the County Palace in Varaždin, with a series of short workshops through which participants could learn about STEM skills, such as:
- How do we know what’s in our water
- How to conclude, based on the results obtained, whether the water from the sample can be used for drinking, watering the garden or for other purposes
- How does acid rain affect water and soil
- What is the desired soil quality for proper plant growth
- What is the quality of the air we breathe
- What are alternative energy sources
- How to make a figurine with a 3D pen
- How to teach a robot to do something for us
- How to code mini-robots to avoid obstacles.
The STEM fest activities took place from 10:00 to 13:00 and were attended by approximately a hundred children of preschool and elementary school age.
The fifth STEM fest was held as part of the celebration of the International Drava River Day, organised by Varaždin County and the University of the North. The event was organised as one of the activities of the STEP for STEM project.
