On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, the 9th STEM Skills Fest was held at the Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering, with a series of short workshops through which participants could learn about STEM skills, such as:
- How a robot sees colours and how to teach it to walk
- How to use solar energy in your home
- How the seasons affect electricity production.
STEM fest activities took place from 12:00 to 14:00 and were attended by approximately 100 kindergarten and primary school-aged children.
The 9th STEM Fest was hosted by the Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering, which is also a partner in the project. This STEM Fest also marked the International STEM Day (November 8) and the World Science Day for Peace and Development (November 10). The event was organised as one of the activities of the STEP for STEM project.
As a surprise, a STEM centre for children and youth was also open to STEM Fest visitors, where they could view the rich geological collection of the Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering, play with Blue-Bot mice, and create various figurines using 3D pens.
